Nicole + Charles | Chic Tropical Palm Beach Wedding
A Chic Tropical Palm Beach Wedding at the West Palm Beach Lake Pavilion
On October 18th 2019, Andrew and I had the pleasure of capturing Charles and Nicole ‘s Chic Tropical Palm Beach Wedding at the West Palm Beach Lake Pavilion. Their wedding day was a classy, tropical dream with a splash of Lilly Pulitzer flare. Their vibrant day was pure 'Palm Beach' perfection.
They said, “I do,” in the same place they shared their first kiss and where Charles proposed, on the dock of the West Palm Beach waterfront. It was a very overcast day, but it didn’t rain! Every last detail was carefully thought out and reflected Nicole and Charles so well. From the colorful hand-painted bottle of Veuve Clicquot to the assorted ice cream cones for dessert, every last detail was an elegant, tropical dream.
Andrew and I have known Nicole for many years. Three years ago, at a wedding we captured where Nicole was a guest, we chatted for a few minutes. While we were catching up, she said, “One day, when I find a guy and get married, you will be my photographer!” Little did she know then, but her future husband was a guest at that very wedding, and she had just met him that night. It was an honor to see their story come full circle. Their entire sweet love story is below.
Charles & Nicole, thank you for choosing us to document your stunning wedding day! It was such an honor working with both of you! We wish you all the best in this exciting new season of life. May God continue to bless you both and your marriage for many years to come.
The Love Story
Nicole and Charles first met on September 17th, 2016, at their mutual friends’, A.J. & Laura Titus, wedding at the Flagler Museum. Charles was head over heels about Nicole from the moment he saw her, but they did not connect in that moment. He assumed she was dating the guy next to her, her brother.
The following year, on February 13th, 2017, Charles began his new job in West Palm Beach, where he was greeted by, and for the first time, formally introduced to Nicole. Even though they worked at the same company, for the first 6 months they had minimal interactions, despite Charles’ best efforts.
The work trip that changed everything:
Later in the year, Charles moved to Texas and flew to New Orleans for a last minute work conference. Charles was excited to find out Nicole was there too. They spent the next four days getting to know each other, working in close quarters, and sharing Hurricanes at Pat O'briens. During the last night of the conference, Nicole mentioned she wanted to get beignets. Since Charles had been to New Orleans many times, he knew the best spot, and he took the opportunity to escort her, so she wasn't roaming the streets of New Orleans alone. He, of course, just wanted to spend more time with her.
After that trip, he knew there was something special about Nicole, even if she showed no interest in him. They went back to their normal work life, miles away from one another. They continued to talk on the phone once a week and hung out whenever he flew to South Florida for a quick weekend to see his parents.
First proper date:
Fast forward to a few weeks before Christmas 2017. Charles knew he was going to be in South Florida for ten days around the holidays, so he asked Nicole on a proper date to her favorite restaurant, Kitchen. She agreed to go to dinner with him because of his “the worst thing that can happen is you have a great meal at your favorite restaurant” pitch. They spent the whole night talking about their families, who they are outside of work, and their values. Everything clicked. After dinner, they continued the conversation while walking around downtown West Palm, Nicole’s favorite way to converse. They ended the evening with a three-hour heart-to-heart on the end of the dock and shared their first kiss.
The remaining seven days of his trip were the start to their relationship. They did everything together from lunch dates, touristy sightseeing, and more dinners. After the seven days of speed dating, Charles had to fly back to Houston. Both hesitant on trying the long distance dating, they decided to see where this relationship could go. A week of time apart was too long, so they talked every night and decided to give the long distance a shot. And it worked!
The majority of their relationship was spent miles, apart but the time a part made every weekend trip together special. For weeks at a time, all they had were phone calls and Face-Timing. The foundation of their relationship started with communication.
The big question:
On December 22nd, 2018, exactly one year from their first date, Charles proposed on the same dock in West Palm where they spent hours talking under the stars. Charles has now moved back to West Palm, and they are excited to be starting their lives together and are thankful for the distance because of the bond they created, no matter the miles in between.

Sarah + Tio | Wynwood Walls Anniversary Portraits
Colorful Wynwood Walls Anniversary Portraits
On Sunday, May 7th, 2017, Andrew and I had the pleasure of capturing Sarah & Tio's Wynwood Walls Anniversary shoot in Miami, Florida! You may remember Sarah & Tio because we also captured their wedding in January of 2016. It was so fun chatting up as we strolled through Miami's Art District!
Sarah and Tio both love color! If you remember their wedding you probably remember the colors! Their Croquet Wedding was filled with colorful flowers and gorgeous details. It quickly became one of my favorite weddings that year! So when it came to their 1-year anniversary portraits they naturally decided on a magically colorful place--Wynwood.
When Sarah told me they wanted their photos done at Wynwood walls I was instantly thrilled, for multiple reasons. The main reason was because I knew they would feel happy and at-home in such a brightly colored place! I love when my clients choose a location that they truly love or where they have spent time together. They always look and feel so relaxed in a place they love! And I love relaxed and happy clients!
Sarah and Tio also brought along their adorable pug, Sofia! She posed and looked at the camera when I called her name! Andrew also had fun hanging out with her while I capture shots of just Sarah and Tio!
Sarah & Tio, thank you so much for choosing us again! We love working with you both and we can't wait to do this again next year! Here's to many more years of marriage bliss!

Jessica + Trey | Colorful Palm Beach Engagement
A Colorful Palm Beach Engagement
On Tuesday, February 21st, I had the pleasure of capturing Jessica and Trey's colorful Palm Beach engagement shoot on Worth Avenue. Fresh, vivid Spring flowers had just been planted in Worth Avenue when we captured their engagement session. These bright blooms brought so many gorgeous colors to their shoot!
Jessica and Trey were so much fun to work with! Andrew and I are so excited to capture their September wedding in Jupiter, Florida! [line]
Their Love Story
Jessica and Trey met in Hawaii, though he was originally from Maryland and she was from Kansas. Trey moved to Hawaii in 2010 and in June of 2014 he started working for Ko' Olina Golf Club. He loved that this job gave him the flexibility to go to school and play free golf at one of the nicest courses on the island.
Jessica moved to Hawaii in July of 2014. She immediately began applying for jobs but was finding it very difficult to find a job in Hawaii. After a few months of searching, she finally found one. It just so happened to be the very same golf course where Trey worked at! Jessica knew absolutely nothing about golf and had absolutely no idea what an OGS person would even do, but it was a job! On her first day, Trey came up and introduced himself. Her first thought was, "Finally! Someone close to my age who's from the mainland!"
Jessica told me, "It wasn't anything like love at first sight, but more like friends at first sight." Trey ended up training Jessica and he had her laughing the whole entire time. She felt like they had been friends forever, and it wasn't long before they started hanging out after work occasionally.
One of their first dates was on the North Shore where they took some wine down to the beach and looked at the stars. During their date and Trey said, "How incredible is it that a guy from Maryland and a girl from Kansas meet in the middle of the ocean after all of these years?" Then he kissed her for the first time and they have been together ever since.
The Proposal
Jessica ended up going back to Kansas in November 2015 to visit her family and friends for a week. After she got back to Hawaii they started talking about getting married. One afternoon they went to a ring shop to look and see, and he ended up ordering something that day. Jessica told him that since she knew it would be coming she wanted to be surprised once the ring was ready and have a romantic proposal.
Well.... she couldn't wait, once she found out that he had picked up the ring she told him she didn't really need anything super romantic. The next day he ended up getting down on one knee in their kitchen and asked her to marry him! She was so incredibly excited that it felt like she didn't even know it was going to happen.

Alexis + John | Romantic Wedding Anniversary
A Romantic Wedding Anniversary at Riverbend Park in Jupiter, Florida
On Tuesday, October 18th, 2016 I had the pleasure of capturing Alexis and John's one-year wedding anniversary portraits. Exactly one year ago from this day they promised forever. So in honor of their vows they decided to get back into their wedding attire and have a memorable first anniversary styled portrait shoot!
The location of this anniversary session was the breathtaking Riverbend Park in Jupiter, Florida. In this dreamy park, you will find a terrain unlike any other in South Florida. This park is filled with flowing rivers, unique trees, and Spanish moss!! When the sun sets in this park it is nothing short of magical. The most glorious golden light was reflecting onto wheat-like fields creating an amazing scene.
When Alexis first contacted me to capture their anniversary portraits I was beyond thrilled! And when I heard what she had in mind I was over the moon! We immediately began chatting about ideas and as a result, we came up with the most dreamy and romantic wedding anniversary shoot ever!
John and I have known each other since we were in grade school! We grew up going to the same church and were a part of the same youth group. When John started bringing Alexis to church I remember thinking how cute they were together! Fast forward to today, they have been together for four years and I am so happy for them!
Alexis & John, thank you so much for allowing me the pleasure of capturing your anniversary portraits! It was such an honor to capture this special time in your life. Here's to many more beautiful years to come!
