Singer Island Family Vacation Portraits at Ocean Reef Beach
On Tuesday, August 22nd, Andrew and I had the pleasure of capturing the Chua family’s Singer Island family vacation portraits. They were vacationing on Singer Island all the way from Canada!
Where do I begin with this family? They might have been the sweetest family we have ever worked with! Not only were they always ready for the camera, looking picture perfect, but they also brought us the sweetest gift of organic maple syrup from Canada! How sweet is that!? I seriously love my “job”!
Their session took place at Ocean Reef Beach & Park on a breezy afternoon. The tide was high and the waves were crashing into the rocky shore. It was a gorgeous day to capture photos at this beach.
Chua family, Thank you so much for allowing Andrew and I the pleasure of documenting your South Florida vacation memories! You all were a wonderful to work with and we hope you enjoy your vacation portraits! Thanks again for the delicious maple syrup!
We started by capturing a few quick portraits on the deck that leads to the beach. The light was too dreamy not to! Then we headed to my favorite part of the beach–the coral rock! His smiles were the best. Momma with her kiddos. How cute are they!? Those smiles! Check out the way the waves were crashing against the rocks! One of my favorites! How sweet is this shot!? These crashing waves were just awesome! Another favorite! Our session ended overlooking this dreamy pastel sky!
Chua family, thank you so much again for choosing Crystal Bolin Photography to capture your Singer Island family vacation portraits! We hope to work with you all again!

Palm Beach Family Portraits at Bethesda by the Sea
On Saturday, August 19th, Andrew and I had the pleasure of capturing the Carter’s Palm Beach family portraits! The Carters have been our dear friends for nearly a decade and in April of this year, they added a new member to their family–Clayton James! He is such a joyful baby and they are the cutest family! You might remember their Christmas portraits from last year when Brooke was rockin’ a cute bump! Now C.J. is here and we were honored to capture their first family portraits!
When Frank and Brooke asked us to be C.J.’s godparents we were, and still are, so honored! He is such a fun little one and we love this excuse to spoil him a bit! I think he already knows that when he comes to Rina & Rino’s (our official nicknames) house my camera is bound to come out and he smiles for me almost everytime!
If you’re wondering how our nicknames came about… Well, Brooke and I came up with them because they are short for madrina and padrino which is the name for godmother and godfather in Spanish and Italian. Since I am Cuban, speak Spanish and we were in Italy when he was born we thought the names were fitting! Plus it’s fun to have a unique nickname! Now let’s see if C.J. actually uses it when the day comes!
Frank and Brooke, thank you for being our dear friends! Watching you both step into this new season as parents has been such a joy and privilege to witness! You both are amazing parents!! We are so thankful for you guys and we hope you enjoy your first family portraits with C.J.!
Bethesda by the Sea
Our session began at Bethesda by the Sea in Palm Beach, FloridaThe first set of smiles from C.J.
After capturing a handful of lifestyle family portraits at Bethesda by the Sea, we hopped in the car and just drove North until we found our next location! The first set of photos brought out my favorite smile from C.J.
The look on his face in this next one was like, “Uhh Rina, why are you in the bushes?” LOL.
But this location though!!
When my crazy ideas turn into something like this… How amazing are these?! Possibly my favorites! Our session ended with glowy golden light at this gorgeous spot!

On Saturday, August 12, 2017, Andrew and I had the pleasure of documenting Elisa and Brian’s Red Reef Beach Engagement in Boca Raton, Florida. Their session was filled with sweet smiles and gorgeous beach scenes! They chose Red Reef Beach and Park because it has been a special place to them, for a while. They will also be tying the knot here in May 2018!
Elisa and Brian are such a sweet couple! They were referred to us by a mutual friend of ours (Thanks, Sheri)! These two were constantly laughing and beaming! It is always nice having a joyful couple in front of my camera!
Elisa and Brian, thank you so much for allowing Andrew and I the pleasure of capturing your engagement photos! It was so nice meeting and working with you both! We are so excited to document your wedding next year!
Our session began along the upper deck at Red Reef Beach and Park. One of my many favorites!
A spot where they have watched many sunrises together. This is the spot where they may be saying “I DO” in MAY! It was such a gorgeous day! Love these joyful smiles! Then while they changed into their second outfit it was time for some ring shots! Next, we walked down to the beach for a few casual portraits.
They handled advanced posing like pros! Another favorite! Then we walked down to the shoreline for a few more romantic photos. More laughter… my FAVORITE! 🙂 How cute are they!? We finished our session relaxing with the ants on a grassy hill…oops! 😉
Thanks again Elisa and Brian! We hope you enjoy your engagement photos! See you in May!

25th Wedding Anniversary Family Portraits in Palm Beach, Florida
On Sunday, August 6th, 2017, Andrew and I had the pleasure of documenting Priscilla and Esteban’s 25th wedding anniversary family portraits! Priscilla was referred to us by Danielle whose photos we had taken the week before! When Priscilla and I chatted for the first time she told me about her idea of doing an elegant family portrait shoot in honor of her and Esteban’s 25th wedding anniversary!
We then chatted about outfits and locations. She described their outfits and explained how she wanted an elegant location. One of the first places that came to mind was Bethesda by the Sea! The second look was still elegant but was going to be a bit more casual. We quickly began talking about The Flagler Museum, and The Palm Beach Lake Trail right next door! And just like that, the locations were set!
The session started at Bethesda by the Sea where we capture their more formal portraits. Their elegant attire fit perfectly with the venue and couldn’t have been any more perfect! When it was time to head to the second location they changed into their second outfits which incorporated more colors that really popped against the grand Flagler Museum gate. As if their session couldn’t get any better they also brought their ADORABLE poodle, named Penny who was also dressed to impress–pearl necklace and all!
Priscilla and Esteban, thank you for allowing us the honor of documenting such a wonderful milestone in your love story. It was truly a pleasure meeting you and your family! We hope to work with you again in the future!

Palm Beach Maternity Photos at Worth Avenue & the Flagler Museum
On Thursday, July 27th, 2017, Andrew and I had the pleasure of working with Danielle and John again to capture their Palm Beach maternity photos! Their session took place on Worth Avenue and just outside the Flagler Museum in Palm Beach, Florida.
You may remember John and Danielle because we captured their engagement photos and their wedding day over two years ago! Having them back in front of our camera was the best! They are such a sweet couple and a pleasure to work with!
We love being a part of our couples’ journeys through life. Being a part of the wedding day is an honor but it’s just the beginning. When we are welcomed back to capture every momentous milestone in our couples’ lives is the true honor.
Thank you, Danielle and John, for allowing us the pleasure of being a part of another special time in your lives! We wish you all the best in this wonderful new season of life and can’t wait to meet John Jr.!
We started our session on Worth Avenue, Palm Beach. Those smiles. Then we walked over to the Saks Fifth Avenue Ivy Wall! Then we headed over to the Flagler Museum for a few shots in front of the elegant black gate! How cute are they!?Love these next shots! Just before sunset, we walked over to the Palm Beach Lake Trail to capture some sunset portraits overlooking the intercoastal! That light though! The cutest bump! This view was amazing!! Then we had some fun with a few silhouette portraits with just the sky and the intercoastal in the background!
The details about these Palm Beach maternity photos:
On the third day in Tuscany, we spent the whole day in Florence. We visited a leather factory, then had a guided tour by a local guide and had a ton of free time for eating and shopping! Florence is such a large lively city filled with so much history!
We started our day early to spend the whole day exploring this incredible city!
First stop was a leather factory and shop! Then we had a bit of free time that we spent in a coffee shop of course! Fun fact: The Netflix show Medici: Masters of Florence gives such an interesting view into the lives of the Medici family and how Florence became what it is today! Then we began our guided tour of Florence! Loved the architecture in Florence! It wasn’t a good day for this bike… Obviously, I have a thing for bikes… Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore Prosciutto pizza! This was Michelangelo’s childhood home! And that was our day in Florence!
On the fourth day in Tuscany we spent a good chunk of the day traveling to Venice, but before arriving in Venice we stopped in Pisa, Italy! Seeing the Leaning Tower of Pisa was a sight to see! After taking too many photos, we walked around the adorable town and found Andrew a bakery that finally had some Cannolis! He had been looking for some the whole trip! I also got my favorite, a Lobster Tail Pastry and it was SO GOOD!!
The light was so pretty on this morning! The background almost doesn’t seem real! Eating the much awaited Cannoli! The doors in Italy were always so amazing! I still have no idea how these guys were doing this!! Then we were off to Venice!!
More from our trip to Italy will be posted soon!
